Kirchen co-founded the original Americana band, Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen. His telecaster licks drove their version of “Hot Rod Lincoln” into the Top Ten of 1972.

Bill hitchhiked to the Newport Folk Festivals in ‘64 and ‘65, both banner years for Dylan.
He witnessed Bob debut Mr. Tambourine Man in ‘64 and go electric in ‘65, among a world of other magic moments.
Bill says that, accurately described in the words of the day, it blew his mind.
Bill and his Texas band will do a set of material from his Commander Cody years and subsequent solo projects, then an all Dylan set of the songs he performed at the Newport festivals, plus Bill’s own memories and observations.
