EUREKA, Calif. – On August 17, Halvorsen Park in Eureka will host United Bikers of Northern California’s (UBNC) 25th annual Bikes by the Bay. UBNC is ramping up its efforts to put on a great event by bringing more motorcycle games, more music, and more vendors than ever before. This all-ages event boasts a motorcycle show, bike games, live music, food, vendors, and plenty of fun for the kids. “We are hoping to make this year’s Bikes by the Bay the biggest one yet,” said UBNC President Jake Dickson.
The motorcycle show has many categories for competition including custom import/European, custom American/chopper, sports bike, supersport, hyper naked, adventure bike, vintage,
touring/bagger, dyna/softail, and mini bike. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to bring your bikes to enter the motorcycle show.
Bike games include a burnout contest, plank race, weenie bite, slow race, motorcycle keg roll, and more. All bikes are welcome, and you are encouraged to bring the kids.
This isn’t just about motorcycles—it’s also about giving back to the community. “Bikes By The Bay is one of those times where United Bikers of Northern California and all those involved get
together to raise money for the charities that touch our hearts,” UBNC Vice President Robert Slater said. With every ticket purchase, attendees will be supporting local charities such as
Eureka Rescue Mission Women’s Shelter, Backpacks for Kids, and Humboldt Senior Resource Center’s Senior Nutrition Program.
There will also be lots of entertainment for the kids, including a face painting booth, bounce house, tie dye booth, bean bag toss, and a special mini bike competition in the motorcycle show.
Musical headliner of the event is the world-famous biker band Fryed Brothers Band, who always manage to get people on the dancefloor with their fun and rowdy brand of Americana. With four
decades performing under their belts, these guys know how to put on a show. Also performing is Chuck Bradley and The Damn Liars, with good old-fashioned, yet still fresh and fun rock and
roll.
Vendors range from art to motorcycle parts to handmade soap. Some of the vendors will include Dough Mama’s Baked Goods, Miss Reilly’s Soaps and Crafts, Anxiety Girl Organic Lotions, North Coast Cycle, All Dogs Biscuit Bakery, Buck Wild Boards, Pro Cycle Service, and more.
Admission is $10 per person, with children under 12 admitted for free. The event runs from 10 am to 5 pm, Saturday, Aug. 17. For more information visit the official UBNC Bikes by the Bay
