Bike Mechanic 102 Class - Free Bikes 4 Kidz

Free Bikes 4 Kidz NM needs your help! And, in return, it wants to help you to become a bike mechanic! Our 2024 season (October - December ) will be starting soon, and that means we’ll be receiving a bunch of donated bikes that need to be fixed up.

For our operation to succeed, we not only need bikes, but volunteers who are generous enough to donate their time to help clean and fix bikes. Cleaning is pretty straightforward, but the mechanical stuff is a little bit trickier (however, it’s not rocket science!)

If you think you’d like to be a volunteer mechanic this season, but want some expert tutelage before embarking on that journey, these workshop sessions are for you!

*Note: we hope that attendees will be inspired to help us fix some bikes this season, but that’ll be entirely up to you. (Don’t worry, you won’t be asked to sign a contract promising us all of your free time ;-)

About the organization: Free Bikes 4 Kidz NM is a non-profit program geared toward helping all kids ride into a happier, healthier childhood by providing bikes to those most in need. The public donates gently used bikes, FB4K organizes hundreds of volunteer hours to clean and refurbish them, and then give them away via partners like afterschool programs, health clinics, church groups, crisis centers and tribal organizations.
