Bike Bus Social

Concerned about the future of Austin Independent School District (AISD) and your child getting to school? Curious about how other families are working around school transportation as a community? We are, too.

That's why we created the first Austin Bike Bus Social. Join National Youth Bike Council and The Parents’ Climate Community, along with non-profit & City partners, for a kid-friendly social to connect you with the resources and support to navigate these changes by bicycle.

At the social, you will:

• Enjoy FREE kolaches & lawn games!
• Mingle with fellow parents/guardians & teachers who are passionate about bicyles, the environment, and kids' health.
• Hear from local parents/guardians & youth leaders who have started “bike buses” (organized groups of cyclists riding to school together along a set route).
• Learn more about new City and non-profit initiatives that help boost youth & family cycling.

Come just for the social OR meet us beforehand at Marshall Middle School for an all-ages community bike ride to Batch Kolaches. Arrive at Marshall by 9 am; the group will depart at 9:15 am. We’ll go over basic safety & communication tips for riding in a group. We’ll then cycle back to Marshall together after the social. If you need a loaner bike for the ride, let us know in your RSVP!
