The American Legion Post 4 and American Legion Riders Yellowstone Chapter are hosting a Bigfoot Scavenger Hunt to bring awareness to Veteran Suicide on Saturday, October 30th. The cost to join the Hunt is $22 and you will need to register through our EventBrite listing. You will also have to like both American Legion Post 4’s Facebook page AND American Legion Riders Yellowstone Chapter’s Facebook page to complete your registration; both of these pages are linked below. If there will be more than one of you participating as a team, you all have to like both Facebook pages. The Hunt will run from 12:00 – 5:00 PM; it’s estimated that actual hunt-time will take about 2 ½ hours. On the morning of the hunt, a post will go out on one of our Facebook pages letting you know what part of town Bigfoot has been sighted in so you can make your way and be ready to go because, at noon, a second posting will go out sharing Bigfoot’s first location. Once you make your way there, you’ll receive a clue to Bigfoot’s next location, and so on through 12 different locations across Billings. There will also be a Bigfoot Poker Run offered during the Hunt where cards will be dealt at some of the stops, with payouts for High and Low hands. The winner/winning team will be awarded with a trophy during the closing ceremony at the American Legion Post, as well as prize payouts for the Poker Run.
Please feel free to wear costumes to make the hunt more fun. There will also be a Halloween Party with live music by Repeat Offenders at the Legion beginning at 9:00 PM.
The Bigfoot Hunt and Poker Run are being held not only to have a fun time but to raise awareness for Veteran Suicide. 22 veterans every day lose their lives to suicide. These men and women have given up so much for us and our freedoms and are left to deal with PTSD, TBI, and other related injuries. We will be providing information and contacts to local resources throughout our Scavenger Hunt and would love to see our community come together for a fun, engaging opportunity to have the backs of those who gave theirs for ours.
