About this Event

Creating Worlds of Joy, led by Jarvis Subia, is a generative writing workshop where we will be writing into joyous writing. Creating words where Joy can exist in our work despite the dispare and heaviness of our current lives. In this workshop we will check in, free write, learn a mechanic or poetic device such as the ode, groupndiscuss poetry, write into a prompt, and share out loud.

This writing workshop is FREE, and it is taking place at the Hyatt Centric (601 SW 11th Ave) on June 27th at 11:00am. (If a Venmo/PayPal handle is presented at this event, we encourage folks to tip the workshop leader.)

This event is a part of the Bigfoot Poetry Festival's 2026 workshop series.

This event takes place on the second floor of the Hyatt Centric in the Pettygrove event room. This venue is ADA accessible. There is an elevator to takes folks up a level.
