About the band....

Big Yellow Taxi is New England's premier Joni Mitchell tribute band. Created to explore her amazing music from it's early folk roots, to her pop masterpieces to her jazz influenced compositions, Big Yellow Taxi brings Joni's music alive.

The band features the expressive and soaring voice of Teresa Lorenço. Teresa's vocals pays homage to Joni's sweet, husky, and bell-like voice delivering an emotional journey through Joni's expansive catalog.

The mission of the band is to present a show that immerses the audience in an intimate journey through many of Joni's best loved and most powerful songs: a performance beyond mere imitation, to delve into Joni’s musical intensity and genius, to leave audiences entertained, moved and elated.

We are very excited to be bringing this act to 52 Sumner and we're eager to see what they can do on the big stage!

About the venue...

52 Sumner is a new venue for the arts, including live music and other entertainment at the old church at 52 Sumner Avenue, Springfield, MA. Once the home of Faith United Church, the building was built in 1894 and designed by renowned architect William Van Alen, famous for his design of the Chrysler Building in NYC. 52 Sumner has been transformed into a captivating arts, entertainment, and event venue set in Springfield's stately Forest Park neighborhood. The hall accommodates over four hundred people and has undergone hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of improvements including a brand-new in-house sound and lighting system.

Free, easy parking is available directly across the street at the old Friendly's, and there will be onsite staff guiding you to the lot! Easy in and easy out in the heart of the city. Please enter at the Sumner Avenue entrance. We will have a coat check and a full bar inside.
