Every Child Deserves a Reason to Smile
The BigSmile Project was founded by Blessing Chimanga over 10 years ago with one simple mission: to give hope to underprivileged children across Zimbabwe.
Blessing believes that every child deserves access to shelter, food, education, and the opportunity to reach their full potential. What began as one person’s desire to give back has grown into a movement that has impacted hundreds of children throughout Zimbabwe.
Over the past decade, The BigSmile Project has supported more than 10 orphanage homes, providing blankets, food, school uniforms, winter clothing, school fees, and other essential needs. Each year, Blessing hosts a fundraising concert to help make that year’s outreach possible.
Our 2026 Goal: Raise $7,500
This year, we’re raising $7,500 to expand our impact and bring hope to even more children.
Your generosity will help us:
📚 Expand Educational Support
We are currently paying school fees for 30 children in the rural community of Chihota, Zimbabwe. Our goal is to sponsor 20 additional children, giving 50 children the opportunity to stay in school and build a brighter future.
👟 Provide School Shoes
Many children in rural Zimbabwe walk to school barefoot, even during the cold winter months. We want to provide sturdy school shoes so children can attend school safely, comfortably, and with dignity.
📖 Supply Learning Materials
Many schools face severe shortages of educational resources, with as many as 10 students sharing a single textbook. Your support will help provide books, markers, and other classroom supplies that make learning more effective for both students and teachers.
💗 Support Girls Through Dignity
For many young girls, menstruation becomes a barrier to education because they lack access to basic sanitary products. In 2026, our goal is to distribute 500 sanitary care packages to girls in rural Zimbabwe, helping them stay healthy, confident, and in school.
🏆 Celebrate Student Achievement
We hope to sponsor a local school’s annual prize-giving ceremony, recognizing students for their hard work and encouraging excellence through meaningful awards and celebration.
🎄 Bring Joy at Christmas
Every child deserves to experience the joy of Christmas. This year, we plan to host a Christmas celebration for a selected orphanage home, complete with food, fun activities, and a special gift for every child. We want these children to know they are loved, valued, and remembered.
