Big Pink Music is proud to present our final show of 2024 with a reunion of the legendary local Americana group "Morning Flight" on Sunday, Nov 17, 2024, at Hampton’s Victorian Station, the region’s only member-supported listening room. The band will take center stage -- literally -- for the next signature in-the-round. The format, made famous by Nashville's Bluebird Cafe and featured on the TV show, "Nashville," puts the artists in a circle ringed by the audience. It's an intimate, shared performance. Victorian Station, the grand building in Phoebus, is the perfect setting.
“Morning Flight”, the band comprised of Bill and Pam Gurley, Pat Terry and Gray Granger has deep roots in the Tidewater area. Beginning in high school as “The Shenandoah Ramblers” Bill, Pat and Gray shared their love of bluegrass and folk music at local events and talent shows. As graduation saw Gray and Pat off to the Navy and Bill off to college, their musical horizons expanded with exposure to the likes of Bob Dylan and The Byrds, and then Bill met Pam. With the addition of her vocal talent, the band “Morning Flight” was born.
Fast forward a few years and “Morning Flight” became a fixture at local music venues like “The Filling Station” and “The Castaway” with strong harmony and a friendship that grew stronger with every gig. Now they come back together at "The Big Pink” to bring a taste of what their fans still love about this band. Please join us to celebrate this rare musical reunion. You will be glad you did!

"The personal support of Big Pink members means music can be the focus,” BPM board president Kelly Murphy says. “Victorian Station is the perfect home for our community. It has developed into a very special venue -- one with no TVs, karaoke, or loud bands -- where the audience truly listens to our local singer/songwriters.”
