ABOUT THE SHOW:

Based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton, Big Fish tells the story of Edward Bloom, a travelling salesman who lives life to its fullest… and then some! Edward’s incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him – most of all, his devoted wife Sandra. But their son Will, about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father’s epic tales. Overflowing with heart, humour and spectacular stagecraft, Big Fish is an extraordinary musical that reminds us why we love going to the theatre – for an experience that’s richer, funnier and BIGGER than life itself.

Glasgow Live Productions are coming back BIGGER than ever, and so we have invited some friends along to make 'Big Fish' even more spectacular! Our wonderful venue, The Glue Factory, will be running the bar providing refreshments before the show, as well as at the interval. But there's more...

The amazing team at Skye Events are going to be providing exciting 'Big Fish' themed snacks throughout the event, not only will you watching Edward's adventures to the circus but you'll feel like you're there too - with popcorn and candyfloss in hand!

Without giving too much away, 'Big Fish' is a story which echoes that of those who Marie Curie supports every day. With the subject matter, as well as the daffodil link, Glasgow Live Productions think that this is the perfect opportunity to support an amazing charity.

Marie Curie is the largest independent provider of end of life care and the largest charitable provider of hospice care beds in Scotland. As well as nursing and hospice care, they have a large team of Helper Volunteers, as well as Marie Curie charity shops across the country. On top of this, they also campaign to change policy and are the largest charitable funder of research work to improve end of life care.

We are so proud to have some of Marie Curie's incredible volunteers joining us for our run of 'Big Fish', brightening up our event space with their pop-up! They'll be there to answer any questions about the charity, as well as taking donations, selling their daffodil pins and bringing all sorts of other fun to the evening!

The Glue Factory is a historic industrial warehouse turned independent arts venue situated in Speirs Locks, in the north of Glasgow.

Entrance to the event will be the ramped access at the top of Farnell Street, Glasgow, G4 9SE.

By Car: 3 Minute drive from M8 motorway – Junction 17, on-street parking available surrounding the venue - free after 6pm.

Bus: On the 7, 68, 71a, 72, 75 and M3 bus route from Buchanan Bus station (Garscube Road Stop).

Subway: 10 Minute walk from Cowcaddens subway station & 11 Minute walk from St Georges cross subway station.
