Bay Area- do you like to sing? Us too! Join Lauren Arrow & the Living Room Friends for a big singing extravaganza with an incredible band.
About this Event

Please join Lauren Arrow and the Living Room Friends for a big singing extravaganza with a band of incredible musicians! We’ll teach you easy-to-harmonize songs and let spirit do the rest. This is for anyone who feels the deeeeeep ecstatic JOY of singing, to the deeeeeep terrifying FEAR of singing and everyone in between! We have one life to live- let's celebrate it by using our voices in community. We will be celebrating Michelle's 39th birthday so come ready to bless this baddie into her next trip around the sun! ?

Note: this is NOT a performance! Singing with all y'all is the POINT, despite whatever judgement you've placed on your voice (good/bad/etc)! We just want to sing WITH you.

This evenings donation will go towards two amazing organizations, Sogrea-Te Land Trust and MECA (Middle East Childrens Alliance). Tickets are a sliding scale donation of $15-$150. Thank you for giving so we can give abundantly.

We will be gathering at an amazing space in Kensington (Berkeley) and will be outside to really soak in the early summer magick.

This is going to be a very special soul-expansive evening that’s going to sell out fast! Our last event sold out in 2 days so get your tickets right away for you, your date, your besties, and those beautiful people you’ve been wanting to share more heart-opening experiences with.

About Lauren Arrow and The Living Room Friends

Lauren Arrow and The Living Room Friends is the product of a group of musical friends saying YES to spending evenings eating homemade soup and bread, sharing life stories, and relishing in the delights of making music together.

The band: Nataniel Markman (fiddle, vocals, guitar), Matt Takiff (guitar, vocals, saxophone, fiddle), Callie Millington (bass), Michelle Rybka (vocals), and Carrie Staller (percussion.)

Lauren Arrow (she/her) is a queer Jewitch song-tender and facilitator in the Bay Area. After overcoming a debilitating fear around singing and sharing her voice, her life’s mission has centered around holding trauma-informed singing circles for the past 10 years, helping folks reclaim their voice and embrace their creativity through her organization, ProcessSING. Her 2016 album, “It’s Happening!” received national acclaim and can be found on all streaming platforms. Lauren facilitates intimate singing retreats, huge song festivals, and everything in between. She loves nothing more than to sing with big groups of folks so come warmed up and ready to dive in!

Sogorea Te’ Land Trust is an urban Indigenous women-led land trust based in the San Francisco Bay Area that facilitates the return of Indigenous land to Indigenous people. Through the practices of rematriation, cultural revitalization, and land restoration, Sogorea Te’ calls on Native and non-native peoples to heal and transform the legacies of colonization, genocide, and patriarchy and to do the work our ancestors and future generations are calling us to do.

The Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA) works to protect the rights and improve the lives of children in the Middle East through aid, empowerment and education. In the Middle East, MECA provides humanitarian aid, partners with community organizations to run projects for children, and supports income-generation projects. In the US and internationally, MECA raises awareness about the lives of children in the region and encourages meaningful action.
