Happy Father's day and Happy Pride. It's such a momentous month - we had to put on another Big Dad Energy! Join us at the Virgil on June 8th at 8pm for a stellar lineup of Transmasc comics. Marval A Rex is a transmasculine, Catalan-American actor, artist, director and cultural producer. In writings and interviews, Rex has been described as a guerrilla ontologist and interdisciplinary provocateur, revelling in provocative world-building. Rex has directed, produced and performed in genre-bending live artworks and films for a decade. His first experimental film "Man, and Me" toured internationally in 2016. In 2019, he was listed as an “LA Art Star” in Los Angeles Magazine. In 2020, Rex hosted his first solo show in Los Angeles with support from LAST Projects Gallery, showcasing ceramics, paintings, and performances. In 2021, he was awarded the prestigious California Arts Council Emerging Artist Grant, and the West Hollywood Arts Grant in 2022. Rex has produced and acted in numerous film projects including the Book of Queer on Discovery+ . He is currently acting, performing live works, curating art shows and can be found surfing in Malibu. Rex has received generous support from USC Roski, the One Archives, DFBRL8R Gallery, Columbia University, Krater Acting Studios and Prosjektskolen Art School in Oslo. Rex is represented by Eric Kind at Brave Artists Management.

Jake Noll is a writer and comedian residing in Los Angeles. They are a digital content creator for Comedy Central/LOGO’s social media account The Gag. They created and starred in the award winning original series Just Call Me Ripley (OTV) and co-created the podcast Murdertown. As a stand up, they have performed all over the city and the country including NBC’s Break Out Fest (Second City), SF Sketchfest (San Francisco), and Limestone Comedy Festival (Bloomington, IN). A recent transplant from Chicago, Jake was a sketch performer at Second City and The Annoyance. They also love to draw pictures that make no sense.

Janaya “Future” Kahn is an activist, model, organizer, public speaker, and comedian from Toronto Canada. Their work focuses on intersectional topics including the Black Lives Matter movement, queer theory, Black feminism, and organized protest strategies. Khan is the recipient of multiple awards, including the 2015 Bromley Armstrong Human Rights Award from the Toronto & York Region Labour Council, and was named one of "Toronto's Most Influential" by Toronto Life in 2016. Their work has been featured on sites such as The Root, and the Huffington Post.

Joey Soloway is an award-winning writer, director, producer, and LGBT activist. Soloway is the creator of the groundbreaking Amazon original series "Transparent." Over the course of its five-season run, "Transparent" received 24 Emmy nominations and eight Emmy awards -- including two for Solowayʼs directing – as well as two Golden Globes. Soloway launched their arts career in Chicago's Off-Loop theatre movement in the 1990s, creating the underground hit "The Real Live Brady Bunch." Soloway was a writer/producer on "Six Feet Under," "I Love Dick," "Grey's Anatomy," and "United States of Tara." Soloway wrote and directed the feature film "Afternoon Delight," which premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, and earned them the US Directing Award. Soloway is co-writer and producer of stage play "A Transparent Musical", opening at the Mark Taper Forum in spring of 2023. They are adapting the book "The Ethical Slut" for Warner Brothers Television, developing a comedic travel series called "The Godyssey" and "The South Commons Experiment" a personal documentary investigating what it meant to grow up in a "racial utopia". In addition to their work as a writer-director-producer, Soloway launched The Disruptors Fellowship, a program supporting emerging television writers of color who identify as transgender, non-binary, disabled, and/or undocumented/formerly undocumented.

Kai is a comedian, writer, and actor based in Los Angeles. He has written for McSweeney's, Reductress, Autostraddle, and been featured in Playboy. He is also the creator, producer and host of the cult favorite true-crime comedy podcast Women Who K*ll and he performs standup comedy at clubs, colleges, and sketchy basements across the country.

7G is the stand-up moniker of British artist Seven Graham: who is the world’s first Out hermaphrodite (aka intersex) comic to perform at the world famous Comedy Store and all over Los Angeles. 7G has opened for top comics, Gina Yashere and Monique Marvez, and was featured in a special article in the LA Times Comedy Special, in 2022. 7G is Out and proud living as a transmasc, intersexy, non-binary Daddy. Jett Fink (They/Them) is an LA-based producer, director, and writer. During the pandemic, Jett wrote, directed, and produced Miss Jordan's Spring 2020 Production which is now streaming on Broad.stream. Since then, Jett has produced both live comedy and film projects. Jett is currently in various stages of production on multiple projects, including their play Terminal, which will premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this August. Most recently, Jett produced two short films -The High and Lonesome Ladies and Good Grief - both directed by Megan Chumbley. Jett is a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and in their free time they enjoy playing the sims and spending time with their dog, Pablo.
