Alex Alavi and the Funky Breakfast are a DC based rock group that boasts a strong setlist of catchy yet quirky tunes reminiscent of '60s roots rock. Think the Kinks meet Shel Silverstein who then bumps into a disgruntled Paul Simon. They are led by songwriter Alex Alavi’s twangy lead guitar and raw, honest vocals, that cut through to the heart of the songs. Supporting it all is Kevin Schechter, who's steady bass will keep you bouncing to the beat and Sam Elliot, who’s powerful drumming keeps the whole train rocking through the night.
