Solo female rock artist, Amie Bishop, out of Hot Springs, Arkansas, teamed up with the dense and soupy rhythm section of Darin Williams & Dan Schoultz, accompanied by the euphonically absolute guitar of Matt Stone. She formed the band in 2020, naming them “The Slingerz” as an obvious indicator of their musical skill. Being able to play any sheet music given to them, play by ear or elaborating her original works and style to a different level.
The lyrical & musical style of Amie Bishop’s original works are rooted in self-awareness & awakening to her true self. She focuses on relationships throughout various struggles and growth stages of her life. She writes in a cerebral sense becoming more aware of the present situation to move into a knowing rather than in a state of denial or fear.
Registered with BMI, Amie Bishop is a published songwriter who has written music for television and film. Her past stems from musical theatre, film, television, dance, gymnastics, professional cheerleading to the United States Air Force, now veteran. Amie quit registered nursing 3 years ago to pursue music full-time although maintains her license knowing that her income would be more than cut in a quarter. She took a major risk and dove straight in. She is most known in television for her performance on Homicide Hunter. She has 4 sync placements in film. Nominated Best Female Artist 2022 for Radio Wigwam in the United Kingdom. Barracuda music video has been awarded a spot on “Cover Nation’s” Youtube Channel(operated by Warner Music Group). Amie Bishop will be featured May 5, 2023 on Pandora AMP “Fresh Cuts” Playlist.
Amie Bishop & The Slingerz together sound similar to a blend of No Doubt, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Foo Fighters, & Dave Matthews Band all messed with the power vocal likeness of Ann Wilson & Robert Plant. Along with her original music, they perform some of the crowds most favored covers in rock, blues & americana.
