Jazz at Lincoln Center rising star vocalists Ekep Nkwelle and Robbie Lee join the JLCO to bring yuletide greetings to dozens of cities across the country. Under the music direction of JLCO trombonist, Chris Crenshaw, the evening will feature soulful renditions of holiday classics, playful improvisation, and entertaining storytelling. ABOUT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER ORCHESTRA
The world’s premier big band, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra consists of 15 permanent members performing live in New York City and around the world. Founded in 1988, the JLCO tours the world performing a vast repertoire of music, from historic and rare compositions to commissioned works. The group’s compositions and arrangements include works by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Fletcher Henderson, Thelonious Monk, Mary Lou Williams, Dizzy Gillespie, Benny Goodman, and Charles Mingus, as well as new music from the group’s unrivalled collection of world-renowned composers and arrangers.
