The community is invited to a special dedication ceremony to commemorate a new park named after our sister city in Germany. Enjoy an afternoon of fun, refreshments and celebration as we officially open the park for everyone to enjoy.Parking on site will not be available. Please use the free shuttle service.
Event Timeline:
3 p.m. - Free shuttle service from Grace Church, 8500 W. 159th St., to the park begins
3:30 p.m. - Gathering in the park for refreshments
3:45 p.m. - Performance by Shawnee Mission South Jazz Band students
4 p.m. - Dedication ceremony begins, including remarks from Overland Park Mayor Curt Skoog and Bietigheim-Bissingen Mayor Jürgen Kessing and the sealing of a time capsule
4:35 p.m. - Performance by Shawnee Mission South Orchestra students
Event ends - Shuttle service from the park to Grace Church
