What if you could read your own obituary? That's exactly what Dava Shastri does in Kirthana Ramisetti's debut novel — and what she discovers changes everything.Join us for the first gathering of a bibliotherapy group led by clinical intern Tammy Muehlenz on Wednesday, April 15th at 6:30pm at Bluestocking Bookshop as we read and discuss Dava Shastri's Last Day — a story about legacy, identity, grief, and the parts of ourselves we perform for the world versus the parts we actually live.
This book goes places that are hard to talk about directly: illness and mortality, cultural expectations and belonging, the exhaustion of code-switching, and what it means to be truly known. It does all of this with warmth and humor, which makes it the perfect entry point for honest conversation.
This group meets every third Wednesday with a new book each month. Come for one, come for all.
Free to attend. RSVP at [email protected] so we know to expect you
