Faith Forward is a comprehensive curriculum for faith development, membership development and leadership development from the First Unitarian Church of Dallas. We've offered a number of Faith Forward programs over the last few years, and "Biblical Literacy" is the latest addition. This course is an exploration of the Bible and how we, as Unitarian Universalists, approach this collection of texts, asking not "Is this true?" but rather "What is true about this?"
We're offering two sessions of "Biblical Literacy for Unitarian Universalists" this Fall, with "Jesus in the Gospels" on September 17th and "Kingdom of God Parables" on October 15th, both Wednesday evenings starting at 7pm after the community potluck at 6:15pm. We'll explores the portrayals of Jesus in the four Gospels, their influence on our tradition and theology, the parables of Jesus, portrayals of the Kingdom of God, and our own theologies of Beloved Community.
