In today’s music landscape, genre boundaries are fluid, classical traditions converse with electronic textures, and live performance becomes both theatre and ritual. Emerging within this space is ‘The Echo Sutra’, an electronic folk fusion act that transforms the stage into a cinematic journey.
At its core is visionary musician Sarthak Mudgal, a Tabla virtuoso who expands percussive language across guitar, djembe, and darbuka. His performances unfold like a live film score — layered, spontaneous, and deeply immersive.
Each set is created in real time without backing tracks, moving fluidly from the meditative intricacies of Hindustani music to the pulsing energy of electronic frenzy, from intimate memory to soaring cinematic crescendos. Drawing on his roots in Indian classical rhythm and contemporary sound design, Mudgal brings both mastery and daring to the stage, delivering an experience that resonates equally in music festivals, theatres, and experimental art residencies.
