Calling all cooks, amateur chefs, and chili connoisseurs - it's time for a Chili Challenge! Join the Birmingham chapter of the Pink Boots Society for our first annual Chili Challenge!It's just $25/$50 to enter (individuals, teams, amateurs, and professionals are welcome; link to apply below) and $10 to sample! That's right, $10 gets you access to tons of home-cooked chili. But act fast - tickets at the door (the day of the event) will increase to $12. You'll also get a chance to vote on the coveted People's Choice Chili.

CHALLENGE INFO
The challenge will take place on the patio of Cahaba Brewing Company. Chili entries will be accepted between 11:45 AM and 12:45 PM on the day of the event. Your chili does not need to be prepped on site, but you need to bring it in a crockpot or other warming container along with everything you need to serve the chili (i.e., a ladle) and any additional toppings you'd like to include. Please plan on making between 10 to 12 servings. However, if you'd like to cook more - you're more than welcome to! We'll send out an email a few days prior to the event with an approximate attendance number.
We'll provide cups and spoons for sampling, but you'll be responsible for your table and chairs. Feel free to make your table fun and festive, reflecting your team name or chili.
Every type of chili is welcome (vegan, vegetarian, chicken, beef, etc.), but you'll need to have a recipe card with any notable ingredients or attributes of your chili. For example - Is it vegetarian? Vegan? Did you use beer or any other alcohol in the recipe? Then you'd note that on the recipe card. Please also note the heat level as mild, spicy, hot, or extra hot.
Judging will be based on taste, aroma, consistency, and that extra little something with prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and a People's Choice Award. Judging will begin shortly after 1 PM, along with the public sampling from 1 PM to 4 PM.
