About the Tandav Workshop - Sayani Chakrabarty brings in the vigorous Tandava alive through the fabled Ravanashtakam Sanskrit verses exploring the virtues of the eternal dancer Shiva. She is excited to share her choreography and her thoughts on Tandava that has touched people worldwide. Participants will be given recorded music too.

About the artist - Sayani is a Bharatnatyam dancer disciple of Kalaimamani Smt. Rama Vaidyanathan (Senior Sangeet Natak Academy awardee). Sayani is a graded artist of Doordarshan and EZCCKolkata & has also received the first grade at W.B State Music Academy for Bharatnatyam. With her keen interest in teaching she has been actively conducting bharatanatyam lec-dems under SPICMACAY all over India.She has presented her dance both solo & group works at various platforms of repute - Brahma Gana Sabha Chennai Dhauli Kalinga Mahotsav (Orissa) and Gudisambaraalu (Hyderabad) Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural CentreNCPA MUMBAI ICCR TOUR to name a few.

About the interactive session on mythologies surrounding Bharatnatyam - Prepare to immerse yourself in an interactive discussion with eminent Bharatnatyam dancer Dr. Himanshu Srivastava. In this workshop he brings the connecting link between dance and the celestials by exploring & decoding "dance tales" mentioned in our Shastras.. a must for both dancers and non-dancers. Relevant scripts with sources will be given to participants. Himanshu Srivastava's love for Indian Mythology and scriptures has been well known. He has been promoting the same through his online/offline Trikona series that has reached out to young and seniors alike.

About the artist - Dr. Himanshu is a graded artist from Doordarshan and recipient of the Junior Fellowship 2013-14 under Ministry of Culture and the Sahitya Kala Parishad Delhi Fellowship 2022-23. He has won multiple accolades for his tal18ents. He is an active teacher and has conducted several workshops under SPICMACAY and Roots 2 Roots all over the country while also performing the art form on international platforms of repute including festival la Carthage-Tunisia Indian- cultural festival-Mexico Gothenburg University Poland festival etc to name a few.
