BFRC Western Winter Fundraiser

Your donation will go towards assisting the underserved communities of San Diego and Imperial Valley, such as the case of Santos M., an elderly 67-year-old man who cannot read or write, lives alone, with no transportation and no family support. He expressed his concern about losing benefits because it had happened in the past for not having any help to fill out his documents and it was important for him to keep his benefits active for his well-being. With his authorization, we offered to help him over the phone. Our team at BFRC made him feel comfortable and got him the assistance he needed to keep his Medi-Cal benefits, plus helped him get food assistance through the Calfresh program, all without leaving the comfort of his home. He received the information he needed and said he felt he could trust someone to help him, which he had never done because of fear. He was grateful and at ease, knowing we would be there to help.

Our organization helps many people like Santos who face disadvantages and struggle to find someone to help them access self-sufficient programs. The Bonita Family Resource Center's mission is to focus on helping underserved families, youth and seniors reach their maximum potential toward a healthier lifestyle with access to healthcare, health education, information, and available resources. For this reason, your donation will greatly help us continue our mission to assist our families in the Imperial and San Diego counties.
