I’m bringing in my longtime friend Misty for an afternoon of solo movement training designed to support your West Coast Swing.
This day is structured with partner dancing in mind, building tools that translate directly into your movement, musicality, and control. At the same time, it’s meant to be fun and energizing. Not about being perfect. Just expanding what your body can do and enjoying the process.
Schedule:
1:00 PM Check in
1:15 - 2:30 PM Jazz Progressions: Technique, balance, transitions, and clarity.
2:45 - 4:00 PM Hip Hop / Funk: Groove, rhythm, texture, and grounded movement.
4:15 - 5:45 PM Contemporary: Control, lines, dynamics, and expressive movement.

Open level. No formal dance training required. Come ready to move and work at your own pace.
What to wear: Comfortable clothes you can move in. Layers help. No jeans.
Shoes: Jazz sneakers, jazz shoes, or clean tennis shoes for jazz and hip hop. Barefoot or socks are fine for contemporary. Avoid heavy street shoes.
A little more about Misty:
Misty RasconSmith has over 20 years in the dance industry with training in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and House. She teaches, choreographs, performs, and directs across the U.S., and has developed her own style called Tribal Funk.
Her credits include Natasha Beddingfield, Janelle Monáe, Vanessa Hudgens, Kirk Franklin, Christina Aguilera, Pink, Snoop Dogg, LeCrae, and brands such as Nike and Pepsi.
There will also be social dancing that evening with Coast, so you can train in the afternoon, grab dinner, and put everything into practice that night.
