Beyond the Land Acknowledgement

Join us for an event centered on the school’s Land Acknowledgement, where we will explore the history of the land currently occupied by the university and discuss the role of public health professionals in supporting Indigenous communities.

This event aims to inspire attendees from all disciplines to research the histories of Tribal Nations and reflect on how this context shapes their work and personal lives. Through discussion and learning, we will highlight the lasting impacts of historical trauma on Indigenous health outcomes and the Social Determinants of Health (SDOH). By fostering awareness and advocacy, we hope to encourage meaningful action toward equity and well-being for Indigenous communities.
