Rethinking Food Access Through Planning, Food Systems, and Innovation
About this Event

Join WTS Northeast Florida and APA Florida’s First Coast Section for a panel discussion exploring how planning, transportation, development, and innovation can improve equitable access to healthy food.

The conversation will look beyond geographic distance to examine the many factors that shape food access, including affordability, transportation, work schedules, cultural needs, and neighborhood development patterns. Panelists will discuss grocery access in revitalizing downtowns, food-supportive mixed-use development, urban agriculture, alternative food distribution models, and what it could mean to treat food access as an essential component of community and transportation planning.

Panelists:

  • Anne Coglianese, Chief Resilience Officer, City of Jacksonville
  • Justin Gravatt, Gateway Jax
  • Sara Campbell, City Manager, City of Fernandina Beach

Moderator: Mary Noonan

Lunch will be provided. Vegetarian and gluten-free lunch options will be available.
