Explore your story through art in this welcoming four-week creative series led by multidisciplinary artist Perihan Kucukosman. Using a variety of artistic techniques and materials, you'll reflect on memory, identity, culture, and personal experiences while creating meaningful works of art in a supportive community setting. Whether you're new to art or have years of experience, this series is designed for all skill levels. Each week introduces a new medium and creative process, allowing you to build confidence while expressing your unique perspective. All materials are provided.
Week 1 – Watercolour Techniques Create a handmade visual journal using watercolour as you explore five meaningful moments from your life.
Week 2 – Acrylic Painting Techniques Paint a symbolic flower that reflects your heritage and contributes to a collaborative community garden installation.
Week 3 – Agamograph Workshop Design a dynamic mixed-media agamograph that reveals two perspectives: the story you share with the world and the one left unspoken.
Week 4 – Needle Felting Techniques Learn the art of needle felting while creating a circular textile piece inspired by themes of migration, belonging, and connection.
The series will be hosted by Perihan Kucukosman is a multidisciplinary artist and art educator with over 25 years of experience. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art Teaching and a Postgraduate Certificate in Art Education and Community Engagement. Working across felt-making, collage, watercolour, acrylic, and oil painting, her practice explores identity, resilience, and human connection. Through community-engaged art projects and workshops, she creates inclusive spaces where creativity, belonging, and collective expression can flourish.
