About this Event

Event Description

The Real Estate & Economic Development (REED) Program, Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) and Entrepreneurship Club (E-Club) has partnered with University of Baltimore’s graduate program in Industrial-Organizational Psychology to host a casual interview-style discussion exploring the people and organizational side of commercial real estate (CRE).
We will spend an hour discussing topics like career and talent development, leadership and team dynamics, organizational culture, decision-making, and even how workplace design impacts employees and organizations—all through the lens of experiences in the Commercial Real Estate industry.
Manager of the Baltimore Organization and Workforce Development Lab, Zachary Baker-Salmon, will frame this conversation with findings and themes from research in existing real estate journals and work to translate them into questions for current CRE industry professionals.

About the Speakers

We will be joined by Terri Harrington and Owen Rouse.

Terri Harrington is the Managing Principal at Harrington Commercial Real Estate Services, LLC and REED Advisory Board Member, as our guest panelist for this discussion.

Terri Harrington launched Harrington Commercial Real Estate Services in 2021 after nearly three decades of experience in the commercial real estate industry. Her career began in 1993 in building operations, management and leasing with national developer, The Rouse Company. Harrington began her brokerage career in 1999 and has worked with firms that include both international company Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) and local firm MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services. Harrington’s diverse experience includes leasing executive suites, mixed-use properties, high-rise office buildings and a variety of commercial products including office, retail, flex and new development projects in both suburban and urban locations. She applies this broad experience in tenant representation of both corporate and non-profit clients in commercial space site selection. She also represents building owners in leasing, acquisition, and disposition of their properties.

Harrington was recognized with the “Best in Real Estate” award in 2021 by the Baltimore Business Journal and was named one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women in 2015. She has consistently been recognized as a market top producer by the industry’s CoStar Group.
