Are you a rope dartist in the Bay Area with a solid grasp the basics and want to push your practice to the next level? If so, we're excited to announce a 4-week intermediate rope dart series starting on October 2nd hosted by flowtoys elf and rope dart academy instructor, Erol!
If you're already comfortable armpit/shoulder/neck/thigh turns, knee/elbow shots, belt/dragon/overlord wraps - this class is for you!
This workshop will also emphasize movement with the dart, footwork, stance, and how to integrate these new skills into your flow to make unique rope dart sequences.
The full series ticket is $120 per student
Workshop schedule:
Thursday, October 2nd: Dark plane
Thursday October 9th: NO CLASS THIS WEEK
Thursday, October 16th: Cradles
Thursday, October 23rd: Non-stalls
Thursday, October 30th: Putting it all together
Each class will be from 7pm-8:30pm with a 10 minute break
Class 1: Dark plane
The 'dark plane' refers to when the length of the leash is entirely behind the user. This class will cover several dark plane entrances and exits.
Class 2: Cradles
A 'cradle' is a form of rope dart leash manipulation. This class will focus on a the basics of a rope dart cradle, different cradle variations, and how to integrate them into your flow
Class 3: Non-stalls
This class will introduce the concept of a 'non-stall' and how it can be integrated into your flow through moves such as an overlord wrap, dragon wrap, and anchor hand control.
Class 4: Putting it all together!
This class will focus on integrating the skills learned through the first 3 classes to make short, unique rope dart sequences.
Who is Erol?
Erol has been a Rope Dart Academy instructor since 2020 and shares his passion for rope dart through in-person teaching and performance. He has taught workshops at many events including FireDrums, Kindle, and Dart Arts along with hosting multiple in-person workshops in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a performer he has showcased rope dart at the Flow Show SF, FireDrums, and IJA Flow Show. Erol also hosts the weekly flowjam at flowtoys every Wednesday night :)
He strives to creates a safe, encouraging space to learn and offers detailed feedback to help students grow through focused adjustments in form, footwork, and mindset. For those looking for a shepherd into the wonderful world of rope dart, look no further!
