Target Audience:
Coaches working in one-on-one and/or team coaching contexts, particularly those supporting leaders navigating complexity, change, and uncertainty.
Session Overview
In today’s fast-changing and multifaceted environments, coaches are often invited into spaces where ambiguity, emotional intensity, and competing perspectives are present. In these moments, coaching presence becomes not just a competency, but a foundational capacity.
This session explores how coaches can deepen their presence and remain grounded, responsive, and effective when working with complexity, both within the client system and within themselves.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will:
• Deepen their understanding of coaching presence in complex and fluid environments
• Recognize personal patterns that may disrupt presence (e.g., over-functioning, rescuing, narrowing perspective)
• Strengthen their ability to stay grounded and responsive under pressure
• Practice holding multiple perspectives while maintaining a coaching stance
• Explore practical approaches to support clients navigating uncertainty and complexity

Your Coach
Elif Suner, MBA, M.Ed., MCC is an Executive and Team Coach, Leadership Development Consultant, EMCC Certified Coach Supervisor, ICF Mentor Coach, and Faculty at the Gestalt Center for Coaching. With more than 6,000 hours of executive coaching, team coaching, and coach supervision experience, she is passionate about supporting coaches in deepening their practice, strengthening their presence, and navigating complexity with greater confidence.
An ICF Master Certified Coach (MCC), Elif is also a member of the Forbes Coaches Council and a former President of ICF Ottawa. She is committed to advancing the coaching profession through teaching, mentoring, supervision, and lifelong learning.
Having worked as an HR and Leadership Development executive as well as an internal and external executive and team coach, Elif brings a unique systemic perspective to coaching. She understands the realities of organizational life, the expectations placed on leaders, and the challenges coaches encounter while partnering with both. Her approach bridges the depth and awareness of the Gestalt tradition with the practical, results-oriented realities of organizational coaching, integrating reflective inquiry with evidence-based coaching approaches to help leaders and teams create meaningful, sustainable change. She is passionate about helping coaches understand and work with the broader system they are part of, enabling them to coach with greater awareness, influence, and impact.
In Beyond Technique: Coaching Presence in Complex and Fluid Environments, Elif invites fellow coaches to explore coaching presence beyond models and methodologies. Through reflection, experiential practice, and dialogue, participants will deepen their capacity to remain grounded, responsive, and fully present while coaching clients through complexity, uncertainty, and change.
