This event will challenge your perception of taste, smell, and texture as you savor each dish without the distraction of vision. Prepare to be amazed by how your senses come alive in the dark! This immersive evening supports Beyond Vision Art’s mission to establish a permanent art gallery in Dayton dedicated to art by and for the visually impaired community.
An Evening to Remember
🔹 6:00 PM – Tactile Art & Cocktails
Your journey begins with a tactile art exhibition, allowing you to experience art through touch. Sip on signature cocktails and explore pieces crafted to engage the senses beyond vision.
🔹 7:00 PM – Dining in Darkness
As you take your seat, the experience deepens. After a brief introduction, dinner begins:
🥗 Salad & Main Course – Blindfolded Experience
Your main course will be Chicken Alfredo, contact us for vegetarian options
Guests will be blindfolded as they navigate the first two courses, offering a firsthand glimpse into dining without sight. Meanwhile, an episode of In the Dark—a series following the adventures of a nefarious blind girl—will play in the background with audio descriptions, illustrating how the blind experience visual entertainment.
Water & soft drinks will be available at no charge, adult beverages available from the bar
🍰 Dessert – Blindfolds Off
Blindfolds will be removed for our cheesecake desserts, allowing guests to reflect on the experience and share their insights. Volunteers will be available throughout the meal to provide assistance.
🔹 Silent Auction & Live Comedy Show
You will have the opportunity to bid on a one-of-a-kind hand-carved, custom-assembled wall clock crafted by a blind woodworker from Ohio. Starting bid will be $200.
Then, you can browse the art again and keep the night going with a live comedy show after dinner, bringing laughter and light to an unforgettable evening.
