Beyond Graduation: The Road to a Fully Funded PhD
Recognizing the importance of guiding aspiring researchers and higher education enthusiasts, the IEEE NSU Industry Applications Society Student Branch Chapter is going to organize an insightful seminar titled “Beyond Graduation: The Road to a Fully Funded PhD” on 29th June, 2026. The aim of this event is to give students practical advice on how to prepare for graduate studies, how to apply for fully funded PhD positions, how to build a great academic profile and how to make the transition from undergraduate studies to research-oriented careers at top international universities.
For this insightful event, we will be joined by Mr. Ahmed Akib Jawad Karim, an incoming PhD student at the University at Buffalo (State University of New York at Buffalo) and Lecturer at BRAC University, and Ms. Tasnuba Islam, an incoming ECE PhD student at Duke University and Research Intern at the Kamaleswaran Lab. Based on their own experiences in research, academia, and the graduate admissions process, they will share important lessons on how to build a strong academic profile, find research opportunities and navigate the journey towards a fully funded PhD abroad.
