This training will explore how using a trauma-informed understanding of substance use health supports mental health and well-being.
About this Event

This training is for professionals who provide support to individuals who are experiencing mental health and/or addiction issues, as well as those involved in policy or program development in these areas.

Join Rideauwood's Manager of Clinical Practice, Amanda Neilson, for an interactive training that covers:

  • Understanding addiction using a biopsychosocial approach
  • Exploring the connection between trauma and problematic substance use
  • Using harm reduction to support change

Learning objectives:

  1. Have the most up-to-date understanding of why some people develop problematic relationships with substances
  2. Be able to confidently incorporate trauma-informed care principles into their day-to-day interactions with people who may be struggling
