Beyond Benevolence: Best Practices for Crisis Assistance Ministries
About this Event
Join Us for the Best Practices for Crisis Assistance Ministries Workshop!
The number of families experiencing homelessness continues to increase each year in Wake County, nearly 29,000 eviction filings were made last year, and an estimated 76,000 households were cost-burdened by housing expenses. This highlights the growing need for best practice crisis response and homelessness prevention approaches.
Churches are uniquely positioned to respond to this increasing need with compassion, support, and meaningful connections to community resources.
You’ll Walk Away With:
- An increased understanding of community needs and the critical resources required to effectively connect people in crisis to support.
- The ability to incorporate Trauma-Informed care into your existing services, resulting in more meaningful outcomes for those you serve.
- Opportunities to engage in preventive partnership work to address root causes in the community.
This workshop is presented by Proven Pathways Consulting’s Co-Founder, Lesley Funk, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nearly twenty years of experience with faith-based, nonprofit, and government organizations in the areas of homelessness prevention, food insecurity, mental health, children and families, and financial empowerment.
Breakfast will be provided.
