BeWell 101: Herb Course

About this Event

We are excited to host BeWell 101: Herb Course at d'griot! blew has been teaching this course privately through other schools and instituations for the past 10 years, excited to bring it to the homefront:)

Class will take place on:

• Sunday's 7/26 + 8/16 + 8/23 @ 1:30pm-3pm
• Sundays 8/2 and 8/9 @ 10:30am-12pm

Participants will learn how to

• Forage + Identify herbs and their benefits
• Prepare herbal infusions, teas, salves, and other remedies for herbal wellness

Participants will gain

• Knowledge on how to use various herbs
• Community around holistic wellness
• Samples to bring home and share with family
• Creative muscles and new thoughts on holistic wellness practices

Participants must bring

• Their excitement + curiousity around herbal wellness
• Their folk stories and traditions that they are already connected to
• Weather needed items, as we will be in and out of the garden most days

Honored by her afro-indigenous roots she is excited about folk stories and folk medicine. blew has been faciliating wellness workshops at conferences and residencies throughout the Phialdelphia School system and other organizations such as Food Moxie, Philadelphia Free Library, and EMIR. d'griot cafe centers on offering nutirent food and beverages that cultivate community wellness.
