Musica Spei presents music from the early Renaissance period that is based on a popular secular song, L'homme arme (The Armed Man). This music is modal, rhythmically complex, and striking to the ear. Featured composers include Ockeghem, Dufay, Dunstable, and other 15th century composers whose music is rarely performed. During several pieces, the audience will hear the L'homme arme song and even have a chance to sing this popular song during the performance. Free will offering: Suggested donation $10.
