Come check out Jamie's Last Resort for some live music and fun!Between Howls are dynamic vocalist/violinist Ren Cooper Howl & guitarist/singer-songwriter Nick Muska Howl. The two perform a blend of folk, rock and blues featuring a distinctive take on the catalogs of artists past & present alongside their own original material.
The Howl’s met in college at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. They first crossed paths as members of various jazz ensembles, as well as at house parties where they would steal songs from each other’s playlists. The two began performing publicly in the winter of 2018 at the Thirsty Pagan in Superior, WI. Their first show had a free-wheeling feel, pulling on audience interaction and song-requests, something they both instantly realized they had a passion for and which has then and always been a key part of their live shows.
Since 2018 they have performed across the US and have cowritten several albums worth of material together, primarily as frontmen for the touring/charting rock group One Less Guest, contributed to numerous records for other artists, and lately have begun a foray into film scoring- for a documentary & a short film which recently debuted at Grauman’s TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles.
After many years of being friends and bandmates, Ren & Nick were married in September of 2023. The two are currently in the initial stages of recording a forthcoming Between Howls album of all-original material.
