The PEAK Parent Center Conference on Inclusive Education for 2024 will be held in two locations on two separate days with the same content presented at each venue. The intent of the two day, two location conference model is to allow a broader reach across Colorado. As the IDEA mandated Parent Training and Information Center for Colorado, it is PEAK’s mission to provide training, information and technical assistance to equip families of children ages birth through twenty-six, across Colorado, including all disabilities conditions with strategies to advocate successfully for their children.
This year’s conference theme is: Better Together. Partnering for Inclusion. The conference will provide rich content for all attendees to assist in the mission of PEAK. The content this year will include:
- Keynote presentation & breakout session on harnessing the power of technology for parents, professionals and individuals with disabilities to explore the strategic integration of AI in education and advocacy.
- Practices for building inclusion through the power of positive partnerships among all stakeholders, resulting in less stress, fewer conflicts, better morale and more.
- Mindsets, practices and outcomes for building inclusion in the academic years.
- The pathway to post secondary higher education
- Building personal networks of support navigating the path to adulthood
- Transitions from high school to post secondary education…rights & resources
- How trauma shows up in the learning environment and practical strategies for professionals and families.
- The importance of self-care for providers and educators
- How early intervention through universal pre-k programs promotes inclusion
As a result of PEAK’s conference content for families, self-advocates and professionals, children and adults with disabilities will live rich, active lives participating as full members of their schools
