Join us for this special Better Conversation and book signing in recognition of the release of Oklahoma Justice by Bob Burke and Nolan Clay. As the 30th Anniversary approaches, let us revisit the story of how the quest for justice was brought back to Oklahoma after guilty verdicts in federal court in Denver, Colorado. For the families and communities ripped apart on April 19, 1995, Oklahoma Justice was not just a question of jurisdiction. For many, the quest for justice at the state level was an important part of the healing process, and it is always a worthy pursuit in a system that stands against the senselessness of violence as a means of affecting political change.Register to reserve your seat and a complimentary boxed lunch, available at 11:30am when the doors open. The program will run from 12:00pm – 1:00pm. The authors will be available to sign copies of their book following the conversation. You can pick up your copy of Oklahoma Justice at the Memorial store or online.
Our panel will include:
- Justice Steven Taylor – presiding judge at the state trial, Memorial Chairman (2018-2019)
- Bob Burke – lawyer and prolific author, co-author of Oklahoma Justice
- Nolan Clay – journalist at The Oklahoman, co-author of Oklahoma Justice
- Pat Lopez – art therapist, courtroom artist for the state trial
- Gini Moore Campbell, moderator – Vice President Oklahoma Hall of Fame, series editor of Oklahoma Justice
