Betsy Ross- Ladies of History

During her lifetime, Betsy Ross was more often known as Elizabeth Claypoole. She was one of thousands of average colonists whose efforts helped the American cause prevail against the British. Flag maker, seamstress, upholsterer, wife, mother, and Quaker, she helped the new nation define itself through flags and colors.
