About Bethany Edwards:
Awarded by TIME Magazine as creator of one of the Best Inventions of the Year, a two-time recipient of Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas, and honored as a regional EY Entrepreneur of the Year, Bethany Edwards’ wide-reaching interdisciplinary experience blends design, science, and entrepreneurship with sustainability and circularity.
As the co-founder of Lia, Edwards invented and developed the first FDA-cleared, plastic-free, flushable pregnancy test, earning global recognition and numerous accolades, including an ADC Gold Cube for International Packaging Design Excellence, winning TechCrunch Berlin, and Lia being named one of The Greatest Designs of Modern Times by Fortune.
With over 80 patents to her name, Edwards continues to lead innovations in product design and materials, focusing on the circular economy and eco-conscious brand stewardship. She spearheads Partnership Development with a focus on Circular Economy at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and is an advisor to various start-up initiatives.
A seasoned speaker and U.S. delegate at global entrepreneurship summits, Edwards holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania (Master of Integrated Product Design) and Temple University (Advertising) and is an alumna of Target Takeoff and DreamIt Ventures accelerator programs.
Her work has been featured in The New York Times, Oprah Magazine, Forbes, and The Wall Street Journal, and exhibited in renowned museums worldwide, such as The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), the Triennale in Milan, and The Design Museum in London.
