Last year, a few of my friends and I cleaned up litter around town wherever we could. This year, we’ve worked with B.E.S.T. (Bristol Eliminating Substance-use Together) to get you involved, too.On Saturday, May 23rd, from 10-3, we will be hosting a cleanup day at Rockwell Park.
Our goal is to help foster an environment of community involvement, collaboration, and compassion for the city we all live in.
Here’s how it’ll work:
(Casual attendance) [10am-3pm]
Meet us at the Back Playground Center to pick up a clean-up kit. We’ll have waters and lunch at 12!
If you want an idea on what spots need more cleaning, we’ll guide you! Feel free to stay as long as you want.
(Competitive) [1pm-3pm)
If you want to organize a few friends or join a team for the chance to win a $25 giftcard of your choice (all while doing something good), this part of our event might speak to you.
From 1-3 in the afternoon, up to 6 teams of 5 individuals will utilize our stocked trollies to pick up as much litter as possible.
The winning team’s members will get $25 giftcards and the ability to appropriately name the B.E.S.T. Bear 🐻 mascot!
On Lunch: 12-1
We organized a lunch break from 12 to 1 from Hometown Pizza. We’ll have pizzas and salads, along with bottled water. This will all be stationed at the Back Playground Center.
If you’re willing and able to attend, you can RSVP in the comments, or just show up! This is supposed to be a low pressure event to show that a better Bristol is possible: you just got to get out there and build it yourself.
