Be a part of habitat restoration in the lagoon - lend a helping hand as we create biodegradable oyster (BESE) mats! Wednesdays from 2-5pm at Marine Discovery Center. Sign up for a workshop now at https://fareharbor.com/embeds/book/marinediscoverycenter/items/618320/?full-items=yes&flow=1105333Volunteers will be threading recycled oyster shells from our Shuck and Share program onto mats using biodegradable zip ties. No experience is needed - we'll show you what to do!
Be sure to wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty, bring sun protection (though we will be under cover most of the time) and a reusable water bottle. MDC will provide gloves and tools.
Volunteers ages 10-17 must be accompanied by an adult. This is not recommended for young children.
**Please Note**
This workshop takes place at our main campus. We also have separate workshops occurring Mondays and Fridays from 9am-12pm at Indian River Lagoon Preserve Park, 700 Sandpiper Ave.
