Berkshire Queer Creative Housing Solutions Forum (Pittsfield, MA)

This is a series of monthly Creative Housing Solutions Forums on the 4th Sundays of Feb, March, & April designed to hear about the housing challenges, needs, and visions of LGBTQ+ people in the Berkshires and then bring them together in Working Groups that will work in-between forums to develop practical projects designed to meet the needs & visions of the people who have similar objectives. And at each monthly forum we will welcome new people who may share the visions of existing working groups or who may create their own working group to work on the housing vision that they care most about.

Q-MoB has been hearing from lots of members of all ages about deep concerns in the rapidly escalating costs of both rent and house/condo prices in the Berkshires and the impact this is having on the ability of younger, older, and low-income members to be able to remain in the Berkshires in stable, affordable housing. We invite you to this initial Berkshire Queer Housing Creative Solutions Forum to talk about LGBTQ+ people's needs and visions for great affordable housing, as well as what we as individuals and a community/organization can practically do to pursue those housing visions. We will be talking about both short-term needs & visions, as well as longer-term needs and visions of both renters and owners, and of people of all ages, as well as the needs/visions of both lower income members and members with capital who may want to invest in housing. As with all Q-MoB programs we will be considering inter-generational collaborative strategies that hopefully will result in an increase of inter-generational diversity among queer people in the Berkshires.

FILL OUT BRIEF QUEER HOUSING SUVEY & INVITE DIVERSE MEN: Whether you can attend the forum or not, would you, before the forum, fill out this to help us create a report and agenda for the Forum and better understand what men in our community need and consider to be our housing priorities. Also would you help assure we hear from diverse people about their housing needs & visions by forwarding this invitation to 3 friends/acquaintances who may be interested.

DIRECTIONS & PARKING: Hot Plate Brewing is located at 1 School Street, which is a few steps up from the corner of North and School Streets in Downtown Pittsfield. Parking is available on North Street, in the McKay Parking Lot and in the First Street Lot. Parking is free all day Saturday and Sunday.

Please note: some GPS tools have a hard time finding the brewery. The easiest way to locate us is to search for 64 North Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201 and walk up from the corner (we’re only a few steps away).

CARPOOLING/RIDE-SHARE: If you need a ride or are open to carpooling, please indicate that when you are registering, & our ride coordinator will try to match you with people nearby who are interested in carpooling or offering rides.

If you attend 2 or more Q-MoB events/month, please consider becoming a monthly sustaining donor member. By donating $25, $50, $75, or $100/month you can help to sustain the incredible variety of activities, services, and resources Q-MoB provides and assure all of these activities are accessible to men regardless of their age, income, or ability, and best of all you can avoid having to donate at each and every event you attend. Monthly Sustaining Members pay only once a month and then can attend all our activities with no further donation.
