Benny Hagerty, a singer-songwriter originally from Wall, New Jersey, relocated to the Carolina’s 4 years ago in the summer of 2020. Upon his arrival to the south Hagerty stumbled into Southern Appalachia. It was love at first sight for him, as he not only fell in love with the music of the region, but also all aspects of Appalachian culture. Hagerty has coined his sound as “Appalachian folk and blues.” His original music falls into the Americana genre, combining bluegrass instrumentation with a folk and blues style of songwriting. Inspired by the likes of Tyler Childers and Bob Dylan, his debut album “Tales of Appalachia” will be available on all streaming platforms in the fall of 2024. His debut single “Quittin Time” is available to stream everywhere with a follow up single “Gamblin Blues” coming out on May 10th, 2024.
