Benji Kirkpatrick – My Boomerang WILL come back!

19 years on from the release of his critically acclaimed 2008 album, Boomerang, Benji embarks on a tour to celebrate the material contained therein in the hope that in 2028 the Boomerang will, in fact, return after the more conventional 20 years.
Already well known as a rhythmic driver and innovative and energetic musical presence on the UK folk and acoustic scene, the album marked a turning point for Benji in that it was his first to feature almost exclusively original songs. Producer Stu Hanna (Megson) brought those songs to life in a glorious sonic palette. Boomerang features Seth Lakeman, of whose band Benji is a member; Pete Flood, Benji’s bandmate in multi-award winning folk big band, Bellowhead; Ben Nicholls, bass player extraordinaire; and John Kirkpatrick and Sue Harris, Benji’s parents!
Despite other commitments, such as those mentioned, plus Faustus, Steeleye Span, The Transports and more, Benji has always played solo and has managed to squeeze out three other solo releases since 2008 – ‘Hendrix Songs’ (2015), acoustic re-interpretations of songs by his first musical icon – ‘Gold Has worn Away’ (2019) with power trio, The Excess and ‘In Phase’ (2023), his most recent offering of original material.
Benji is a consummate performer and talented multi-instrumentalist and singer.
