About this Event

The Benjamin & Yancy Foundation's 5th Annual Cancer Survivors' Luncheon is the Foundation's premier annual fundraising and recognition event, dedicated to celebrating the extraordinary courage, resilience, and triumph of breast cancer and prostate cancer survivor warriors. More than an elegant luncheon, this signature event is a powerful celebration of life, hope, healing, and the unwavering strength of those whose cancer journeys continue to inspire our community.

Founded in 2017, the Benjamin & Yancy Foundation, Inc. is a New Orleans-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in memory of two distinguished educators and breast cancer advocates, Dr. Velma C. Benjamin and Elmira Jacqueline Bridges Yancy. Inspired by their legacy of service, compassion, and commitment to improving lives, the Foundation was created to provide cancer education, increase awareness, promote early detection, and offer patient assistance and supportive services to individuals and families affected by breast and prostate cancer throughout the Greater New Orleans area.

Since its inaugural luncheon in 2019, the Cancer Survivors' Luncheon has become one of the Foundation's hallmark events. What began as a celebration honoring 19 breast cancer survivors has grown into an annual tradition recognizing both breast and prostate cancer survivor warriors. Over the past five years, the Foundation has proudly honored more than 60 breast and prostate cancer survivors, acknowledging their remarkable courage while celebrating the caregivers, healthcare professionals, advocates, and community partners who stand beside them in the fight against cancer.

Guests will enjoy An Afternoon of Celebration, Hope & Elegance, featuring inspiring survivor stories, heartfelt tributes, special recognitions, entertainment, and meaningful fellowship in an atmosphere that uplifts and empowers everyone in attendance. The luncheon serves as a reminder that no one fights cancer alone and that every survivor's story is a testament to perseverance, faith, and the power of community.

Proceeds from the 5th Annual Cancer Survivors' Luncheon directly support the Benjamin & Yancy Foundation's mission to expand cancer education, awareness initiatives, community outreach, early detection programs, patient navigation, transportation assistance, wellness resources, and financial support services for individuals and families impacted by cancer.

Together, we celebrate survivors, honor caregivers, remember loved ones, inspire hope, and invest in a future where every person has access to the resources, support, and compassionate care needed to overcome cancer. Through the generosity of our sponsors, partners, and community supporters, the Benjamin & Yancy Foundation continues to make a lasting impact—one survivor, one family, and one life at a time.
