I received a call September 1st that my dad was airlifted to Loyola with my stepmom following in her own ambulance ride. They got hit by a car on the motorcycle while riding home the evening before. Their injuries are extensive. My dad has a broken shoulder, collar bone, pelvis, femur, tibia, fibula, thumb, and a couple of ribs, among other issues. Kathi’s right ankle is broken along with her left foot, wrist, both hips, a couple of ribs, and a few vertebrae in her spine. After several surgeries between the two, they are expected to recover as much as anyone really can from this. They’re both being transferred to rehabilitation facilities for physical therapy.
Needless to say, neither will be able to work or unable to work to their full capabilities. This benefit is for them to receive help from their friends and families in support of their healing while not being able to work.
There will be food, drinks, and raffles. Let’s show these two the love and support they give everyone else.
