Presented in partnership with the Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN), this special program will explore Pensacola’s deep connection to the water and the role maritime history has played in shaping the community.
Maritime archaeologist Mike Thomin will share stories of early explorers, shipwrecks, and the industries and cultures that developed around Pensacola Bay, while highlighting the important work being done to preserve the region’s underwater heritage.
Guests will gain a deeper understanding of how Pensacola’s waterways have influenced the area’s identity and history for more than 465 years.
