Learn a body-centered approach to walking the sober path, blending neuroscience, mindfulness, and Ayurveda. This training was and is created for individuals supporting people on the sober path.
This 3-day immersion is for yoga teachers who want to have a deeper understanding of how yoga heals the effects of addiction and to develop teaching skills based on neuroscience, breath science, the chakras, the vayus, and yoga philosophy.

Course Outline
Trauma & Addiction
-Understanding the nervous system and dysregulation
-Identifying ways that trauma shows up on the mat
-Mitigating trauma response activation
-Building trust and camaraderie
Class Content
-Choosing themes relevant to recovery
-Building a toolbox of interventions
-Creating program curriculum
-Tying themes to yoga philosophy
Group Structure
-Creating a welcoming environment
-Designing group guidelines and agreements
-Establishing a group format
-Choosing prompts and check-in questions
Teaching Techniques
-Fostering celebration and positivity
-Understanding the importance of language choices
-Knowing useful modifications using props, including the wall and chairs
-Creating self-care routines and rituals
Includes 15 CE credits for teachers registered with Yoga Alliance
Please be aware that all participants MUST register by 9/18. If minimum number of students is not met, this course is subject to be canceled.

Sadie has been teaching yoga in sober spaces since 2014. Her teachings are grounded in neuroscience and include mindfulness, yogic breathwork, yoga philosophy, and Ayurveda. She holds a BS in Psychology and Human Development and is a Continuing Education Provider and 500hr Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance. Sadie’s meditations and courses on the Insight Timer app are rated among the top in their category.
