Dance secured its position as a serious art discipline during the seventeenth century. As dance music became prevalent across Europe, composers of the period turned to dance forms and structures as a rhythmic framework and inspiration for their works. A selection of pieces by two leading forces within organ music of the German Baroque and York-based composer Frederick Viner's suite Ebor Excursions trace the evolution of dance forms in Classical music and celebrate their virtuosity and rhythmic energy! Music Director of King’s Lynn Festival Chorus, Ben Horden is an accomplished keyboardist and choral conductor. He regularly performs as a soloist at internationally-acclaimed festivals, including the London Handel Festival and York Early Music Festival, and collaborates with ensembles such as the Royal Northern Sinfonia and BBC Philharmonic.
